You should tell me, otherwise if you ask it means the interface is not good enough...
Does it look like it's not what you would like to obtain?

I was just wondering about the " Not recommended if the board notifications are enabled ". I don't know where the " Board notifications " are and whether enabled or not.

The board notifications are located in the panel directly below that one :P

The reason behind the hint is that, if you already have board notifications enabled, meaning you are already receiving all posts for a board(s), then you may not want to turn on the auto topic notification, otherwise you get two notifications for that topic.

So that could explain http://www.ElkArte.net/community/index.php?topic=3497.0 ?

ETA: now that I think about it, since we have a "notifications" thingy, it may very well be possible to "collect" all the notifications until the moment they are sent and send out only one if necessary... not sure if doable for 1.1 though.
