Cant delete members post as admin November 07, 2018, 03:38:46 am Hi,I had a member join my forum and made this post https://forum.melangecounselling.com/index.php?topic=15.0As you can see Id like to remove the post. However despite trying to delete each post by them as admin. I get error message;" An error has occurred" If you want to remove this topic click on remove link OR as admin to do it for you. I banned IP and user but cant seem to delete their posts? Thanks
Re: Cant delete members post as admin Reply #1 – November 07, 2018, 03:48:01 am Have you tried to un-ban the user and delete his posts first, before you ban him again?I think I have a bug in mind...
Re: Cant delete members post as admin Reply #2 – November 07, 2018, 08:24:11 am Can you delete only the second or third post? You can't delete the first post of a topic, instead you can delete the whole topic since it's spam. it's not a bug, it's how elkarte/smf works.p.s. if you need to delete only the first post of a topic you need to split the topic from the second post and then delete the original topic which will contain only the first post.
Re: Cant delete members post as admin Reply #3 – November 07, 2018, 08:54:20 am This is a tangential thought. If you delete a member, you have the option to automatically delete their topics and/or posts. There's really no reason to retain spammer accounts.
Re: Cant delete members post as admin Reply #4 – November 07, 2018, 03:50:26 pm @mbtcompendium the error messages gives you the hint: you cannot delete the first message of a topic, you have to remove the entire topic. The "remove" is at the bottom left of the the discussion, next to "move".
Re: Cant delete members post as admin Reply #5 – November 08, 2018, 11:10:56 am Alternately .. you can split the topic ..Here you can move all (exclude the first) Messages to a other (new) Topic. There after you can remove the original Topic with the first Message ...
Re: Cant delete members post as admin Reply #6 – November 13, 2018, 08:14:33 am That's what radu already said.
