Title: Releasing 1.1 beta 1
Post by: emanuele on June 13, 2016, 05:48:16 pm
I packed the stuff, would anyone mind giving a spin and see if at least the installer works?
Here the weather is a bit late and I'm sleepy... O:-)

ETA: file removed, find the release in the announcement http://www.elkarte.net/community/index.php?topic=3751.0

The installer worked like a breeze.  :)  Do you need anything else tested in this build?

Good! :D
I guess it'sfine, we will get all the bugs later on anyway. LOL

I was thinking (in terms of "procedures") that the less unsafe[1] moment to start the translation is when the first beta is released. In theory after that point very few things should change and there is all the time from beta to final to translate the differences between the previous version and the new one.
Having the files out too early means that strings may change, be added or removed leading to useless work[2]. When releasing beta, instead, everything should be less hectic and only few will change before final.
Hope that makes sense, if not feel free to propose alternatives. :)
In the sense the moment with less probability files will change again.
i.e. you translate something, then it is changed you have to translate it again, or deleted and you have wasted entirely your time.

I'll create a new transifex project soon.. old language strings will be used so you just have to add / edit the new/modified strings.

Cool deal.  It's no problem setting up a test site.  Anyone here can poke at it and see howit works.  The offer always stands.
