Title: Any sample-data-auto-fill routines around?
Post by: Bloc on August 21, 2016, 03:40:54 am
Anyone coded a routine to fill a test-site with sample data for ElkArte?

No big deal, but if someone already dun' it, it would be nice. :)

There is the evergreen https://github.com/elkarte/tools/blob/master/populate.php from Matt Zuba... but I didn't test it in a while...

Tried it now, it goes into a refresh loop after creating the members(or halfway through them.) Guess there are some kinks to work out there. :)

I guess a lot has changed with EA but that code doesn't.

it worked for me on both 1.1 and 1.0.7... back in May.

Well, it is a series of refreshes until it finishes to populate the whole number of users and posts you asked for.
Maybe try with 5 members, 5 topics and 10 messages. This should go in a single pass.

Yes, I know..but it became stuck on members regardless of number I added for it.

Maybe its something in my local setup that cause this(XAMMP) - in any case I converted a SMF backup instead to get a testing site active. That worked fine :)
