IPv4 fading away part.... 5 or 6 or something like that. :P

So, North America doesn't have any more free IPv4 addresses to assign, what's left is address trading and IPv6.
Elk should be mostly ready for IPv6, even though, to be completely honest, I feel there are few places that would need improvement.

I also wonder: will still make sense IP banning in an IPv6 world?

I already find IP banning worthless FWIW.  But then I rarely ban....only once to be precise.  Anyway, it's so easy to circumvent.  All one must do is use another machine.  lol

Such behavior should probably be discouraged or even outright disallowed simply because IPv6 is so geographically fragmented.

If you're not working with IP addressees, nothing.

No and that trigger should be dropped IMO.  Honestly its not the triggers that make the ban function useful anyway.
