I don't know why its doing that ... unless you have some idea on how to fix that my thought would be to replace that code with a simple return true.  That area is just a random time sink to provide some pain to spammers.

No worries ... there is a pending PR with that removed should we decide to go that way.  Its a minor goodie if it works.
