So the recent change on mobile to put the go up / go down buttons in the lower left corner is very annoying for me. I tend to zoom pages a lot (even mobile ready pages) and now with those buttons there when I zoom a page the up/down buttons zoom to quickly eat up lots of screen.
I know there's been a lot of back and forth on those buttons, but I'm not sure this is a great solution.
Got any ideas?
I didn't see any solutions on google, so I'd say turn them back off on the mobile view.
I am curious what happens if you set them with a negative fixed position and a margin to make them on screen normally. When you zoom that does the negative offset grow with the zoom to keep them from quickly taking over the page? No idea. Probably not though.
Yes, that could actually work. It'd require a bit of testing to get it right for looks at various amounts of zoom, but the principle is sound.
So these floating buttons are the go up / go down buttons that can be enabled or disabled in the admin layout config right?
Because I have them disabled and they're still there.
No, that's a bug. That setting relates to the old SMF up/down buttons. It should have been removed from admin.
Added the removal of that option text to a pending PR
I don't have a Mac, but out of curiosity, does what's suggested here to turn the Mountain Lion scroll bars always on solve the up/down button issue?
