So far that I am concerned, the latest patch is good. No more errors even while using php8.0.

Quote from: tino – That will be up to the mod authors to test and change if there are any issues.

So, if you do not want to get problems with addons on the forum, then it is not recommended to install patch 1.1.7 ?
I'm trying to get an answer to this question. :)

It is recommended to test on a separate install to make sure it all works. Also you should use the latest version as it has some bug fixes, php version compatibility fixes and I think a few security fixes. It’s up to you if you upgrade at the end of the day but it’s recommended you do, the developers here can’t test against all the addons and it’s the mod authors responsibility to ensure it works.

Quote from: Spuds – Thanks for the offer, I do have a docker php8 container that I can try to reproduce with first.  I'm surprised that a depreciation notice would drop the site, must be another error that is aborting things that is not getting logged.
I didn't see anything about how to use Docker for development in the README btw? Do you have any quick pointers?

Edit: actually I randomly came across it over at https://github.com/Spuds/Docker-ElkArte I presume, while I was looking for the latest updates on Elk-Bookmarks. The README is a bit sparse but the backup docker-compose up works. :)

Glad you found that repo.  Yes a bit sparse on the readme :D ....

Note there is also a php8 branch that should build, although I should double check if I've updated anything locally. I know early on there was a problem with imagick, and I don't think it installs (renames) a default php.ini.   I really should just publish the container so folks don't have to wait on the build, but generally thats a one time thing.
