Likes Not Working

Hi Everyone,

Just migrated from SMF to ElkArte and everything went pretty smoothly. I am on version 1.1.6 and have discovered that the Likes don't work. I have enabled them in the admin section of the site and allowed people to Like a post after they've had 1 post.

I have tested in both Chrome and Firefox with the same result. All I see in each browser status bar at the bottom is:

javascript:void(0)

When I hover my mouse of the "Like" link. Doesn't that need a value?

Thanks

Duke

The like button is an ajax call so thats why you see that as the link and its correct.

Check the notifications section in your admin panel and make sure that master notifications  is on and that likes notification is enabled

Thanks Spuds. I've checked the Notifications and it's enabled there as well, so that isn't the issue. Any other ideas?

When you click the Like button nothing happens. I check the Likes I've applied in my profile and there are none. Am I missing something?

Do you have any adblocker installed? One member on my forum could not use the Likes for this reason

Can you use the Likes on this forum?

Good idea. I disabled the adblocker, but that made no difference.  I can use the Likes on this site and have Liked your post as a test. I can see that the Like button has changed from a + sign to a red - and has the number 1 in green above it.

On my site neither of things occur. The green + appears when you hover over it with the mouse, but when you press it nothing happens.

Quote"Mixed Content: The page at '<URL>' was loaded over HTTPS, but requested an insecure script '<URL>'. This request has been blocked; the content must be served over HTTPS."

You need to go to your admin panel and check both theme settings and site setting and see if you have http:// in any of the directories and change them to https:// ... Your site is https and will not load script content that is not served over http.

I have checked both locations and everything I can find is set for https://www.carltonsc.com unless there is a section I'm missing...???

That was the temporary URL I was using while migrating from the old SMF site. Where can I find those settings in the admin section?

Quote from: Spuds – Please double check your theme settings for the theme you are using ...

https://www.carltonsc.com/index.php?action=admin;area=theme;sa=list

do you see any that have that step1 thing, if so change them.

The default theme had step1 and changed all those and then emptied the site cache using the forum maintenance and then refreshed the page. Still no joy...

Any other ideas?
