Title: Mail delivery failed: returning message to sender
Post by: Jason on April 24, 2019, 01:22:05 pm
I keep getting emails with the Subject header and the following message

QuoteThis message was created automatically by mail delivery software.

A message that you sent could not be delivered to one or more of its
recipients. This is a permanent error. The following address(es) failed: abcd@gmail.com

It means exactly what it says ...

ElkArte sent the email to the supplied email address.   The server at that address, in your example gmail.com, replied that no username abcd exists so gmail can't deliver it.

Oh ok, then the spammers are trying to sign up and the confirmation mail is not sent to them as their email ids are fake.
