I have a working version on my client (using Google Authenticator)
Not sure for the Core (1.1) or a plugin though.
Edit: Now a bit more time, short explaination how it works..
1) You generate a Secret key in the profile
2) you install Google Authenticator on a mobile phne (android or IOS)
3) you scan the QR-Code (see screenshot) with the Authenticator app on your mobile phone
4) You log in via username + password + OTP token (the 6 numbers on the screenshot from my android phone).
It is damn secure because those numbers will be updated once a minute.

To be honest, It wasn't really hard to implement ... It's still not finished (needs Docs and some profile related stuff) but the login works just fine :)
