And finally sc is running EA 1.0.7. Fortunately, there weren't many theme conflicts, so I did only few manual changes.

Hello,
I wanted to upgrade to 1.0.8. and following the instructions I need to first upgrade to 1.0.7.

My question is, can I just upload the changed files:
~> BOARDDIR/SSI.php
~> BOARDDIR/index.php
~> SOURCEDIR/Load.php
~> SOURCEDIR/Security.php
~> SOURCEDIR/Subs.php
~> ADMINDIR/ManagePermissions.controller.php
~> ADMINDIR/PackageServers.controller.php
~> CONTROLLERDIR/Auth.controller.php
~> CONTROLLERDIR/Display.controller.php
~> CONTROLLERDIR/Memberlist.controller.php
~> CONTROLLERDIR/ProfileAccount.controller.php
~> CONTROLLERDIR/Register.controller.php
~> CONTROLLERDIR/Stats.controller.php
~> SUBSDIR/Admin.subs.php
~> SUBSDIR/Boards.subs.php
~> SUBSDIR/Cache.subs.php
~> SUBSDIR/EmailFormat.class.php
~> SUBSDIR/Graphics.subs.php
~> SUBSDIR/Html2BBC.class.php
~> SUBSDIR/Html2Md.class.php

instead of applying the patch via the Admin Control Panel?
What could be a drawback of doing so, if any?

Kind regards,
Esteffano

Yes, you can.

None as far as i can remember, unless you modified any of these files. In that case you'd lost the changes.

Hello,

this time I have updated to 1.0.9 using a full new package and rewriting the files.
However, after the files have been overwritten on the server, the "powered by ElkArte 1.0.7" stays as it was.

Any suggestion?

KR,
Esteffano

Are you sure you replaced index.php as well?

I was pretty sure I did, but you're right... I missed it somehow. Thank you.

You may want to check all the other files in the root, you may have missed others. ;)

OK, I will check it.

In the attached image you can see that some versions are not up to date, it seems.
Would it have to do with the files in the root? Or where is the system retrieving the data for the "Your Version" column from?

Kind regards,
Esteffano

You should be able to expand the directories to see the detail of each file. ;)

After this I feel so stupid, I checked and this option was also into SMF, but never noticed that. Last time on smf I did a large update because I didn't know which file was outdated :( In elkarte I had 3 outdated files and I was able to correct them quicly.
Don't know if I am the only one who did not noticed that, but an icon "+" or an "expand" button could be useful (not for me anymore :) )
