Why shouldn't you be able to like your own post?

More importantly, why does it clear my quick reply when I like a post? :) Aren't likes using ajax?

Why is the "like post" button hidden in the more menu?  I can understand not having any likes yet that its hidden..but when there is a indicator? My first reaction was to press that..but  no luck. 8)
