php_uname() has been disabled for security reasons ?

I have installed the trial version but had a problem logging in to the control panel

Temp fix edit sources\subs\Admin.subs.php
Find
Code: [Select]
$versions['server_name'] = array('title' => $txt['support_versions'], 'version' => php_uname());
Change to
Code: [Select]
$versions['server_name'] = array('title' => $txt['support_versions'], 'version' =>'');

Looks like there needs to be a change to detect if a function is disabled with ini_get('disable_functions');

The program is good and simple ...
But it lacks many advantages:
- Portal
- Friendly links
- The description for sections and topics
- Additional fields for the profile
- Like System
- Friends System
-Gallery System
- Addition of tables within topics
- Visual editor in responses

  • you can add board description in ACP
- Additional fields for the profile
  • into core
- Like System
  • into core
- Friends System
  • you can add members as friends, it all depends on what "friends" should do for you
-Gallery System
  • there is an add-on or you can bridge Coppermine Gallery 1.5
  • I agree that there is no real and native gallery for Elkarte
- Addition of tables within topics
  • you can add tables inside posts, if this is what you mean
- Visual editor in responses
  • you can already do that, it's in the core

Download elkarte, install it and play with it. If fit your needs go ahead

The problem is not starting again or converting.
Everyone knows that the vb3 program. It is considered the best forums program so far despite the cessation of support for it, but it has strong features, a system of powers and groups of users and ease of use by the addict and member, as well as with the use of Hack vbseo the program becomes very wonderful and also has a complete localization of the control panel
However, it does not support recent releases php 7 from and there is no support currently from the main company
I did not find a program close to the standard of the vb3 program

In my opinion there is no best software, but best software that fit your need, or at least most of your needs. Nowadays I wouldn't use VB even if it were free, but that's my opinion based on my needs.

Like I said, take tour time and try the software on a test environment, play with it, try the addons listed here, because from what you've wrote before my impression is that you didn't test alt the settings included. Then you can choose, if elkarte fit your needs go with it, otherwise go with VB or other forum software.
