Searching

I'm not so sure the search works that well...or I'm doing something wrong
e.g. from this thread
https://www.boombeachforum.com/index.php?board=15.0

Searching for "Trader chest statistics" gives no results and that is trying with subject only as well. Without speech marks gives an unrelated thread

Is there some settings I need to adjust?

edit:
Ok I found the search settings - will have a play

Oh well setting up the index made no difference

I just tried doing a search on this site for a topic subject that was 6 years old and it found it.   I tried what you showed above and it does not find it, so strange.

What DB engine are you using and what are your search settings?

Mysql and set up a standard index in the search tools

By standard you mean a Fulltext index?   Also did you leave the options under search method unchecked?

Just trying to duplicate what you have so I can test.

Thanks

Was a standard index - will set a full text index to start when I leave for the bar in a while...

Are those on this site or your test site ?   I'm not surprised on some of those results as the search terms are either short or would/could be part of a stop word list depending on what engine is being used.   However some of the results are surprising.
