Title: ElkArte 1.0 Release Candidate 2 - Release announcement
Post by: emanuele on July 20, 2014, 12:16:18 pm
The ElkArte Community is pleased to announce the first ElkArte 1.0 Release Candidate 2 is now available. The release candidate is usually the last development step before release a stable version, made available to allow a final round of testing on what will be the first major version of ElkArte, though it's still considered a development version and as such is not recommended for production use.

For a more detailed list of issues fixed and improvements from the RC1, please read the ElkArte 1.0 Release Candidate 2 release notes (http://www.elkarte.net/community/index.php?topic=1710.0) topic on the site.

For a list of known issues, please follow both the topic
ElkArte 1.0 Release Candidate 2 known issues (http://www.elkarte.net/community/index.php?topic=1738.0) and the list of issues assigned to the 1.0 final milestone (https://github.com/elkarte/Elkarte/issues?milestone=5&state=open) here at gitHub.

In order to help us release ElkArte, users of the release candidates are encouraged to report any bugs, issues or errors at our
GitHub Issue Tracker (https://github.com/elkarte/Elkarte/issues?direction=desc&sort=updated&state=open).

If you are nervous about reporting bugs through the formal bug reporting system, you can simply report your issues to our user community at
ElkArte (http://www.elkarte.net/community/).

We look forward to receiving your feedback on this second release candidate of ElkArte!

No download link? Or update patch in my Admin panel? #lazyadmin

ETA: Also, the download link on the Home page leads to Beta 2.

Heh...
I don't have enough experience in doing releases. :P

With changes to 121 files?
I doubt it would install in many servers. Even only a "replace the files" kind of patch it would require quite a bit of memory to read and extract the package and wouldn't be much different from extract the package and upload the files via ftp.
Having a weekly RC the way I proposed a while ago could have worked with patches, but after a month is kind of unlikely. Judging from the current feedback (i.e. nobody has reported anything), a patch may work from RC2 to final.
