Is it still possible to add a poll to an existing topic?

I can see the button to include a poll with a new topic, but cannot see any way of adding a poll to an existing topic. What gives?

Should be on the left side under the posts. But it seems it's only possible if there was only one post inside the thread.

Left side under posts? Left side of what? I don't get it. And it should be possible at any stage, IMO. That was useful functionality sometimes.

It is not possible here, to add a poll to an existing topic ...only if you start a new topic. Than there is a button under the editor. But there is no button to add a poll, if you are editing the first post of a topic you have started.

Edit your first message and you can add the poll. Actually, if I'm not wrong, in the post page there is always the button "add poll" (for the OP of course).

So only the thread starter can add a poll, right?
