All icons to FA in 1.1 August 02, 2016, 10:12:42 am Would be great to see all Elk icons migrate to Font Awesome in 1.1 stable. Any chance ?
Re: All icons to FA in 1.1 Reply #1 – August 02, 2016, 11:15:08 am 1.1 has ditched most of the FA icons in favor of SVG files. So, quite unlikely to happen to migrate (back) to FA.
Re: All icons to FA in 1.1 Reply #2 – August 02, 2016, 11:19:22 am I see. Then any chance to replace old day icons with " flat " ones ?
Re: All icons to FA in 1.1 Reply #5 – August 02, 2016, 11:44:42 am It's a rather subjective metrics, I don't like flat stuff. Why not create a theme with flat icons?
Re: All icons to FA in 1.1 Reply #6 – August 02, 2016, 11:57:44 am There a lot of icons to change it in every theme. Everyone is going flat. So, I thought there would be many takers here as well.
Re: All icons to FA in 1.1 Reply #7 – August 02, 2016, 03:23:21 pm So material is dead?Nobody is using it?
Re: All icons to FA in 1.1 Reply #9 – August 02, 2016, 03:51:57 pm Well, then wouldn't be easier if you point out which icons should be changed? It's nothing new I'm not a design expert and name things by the sound of words.
Re: All icons to FA in 1.1 Reply #10 – August 02, 2016, 04:15:18 pm Actually, there's a lot of them. The ones with gradient/grey.
Re: All icons to FA in 1.1 Reply #12 – August 03, 2016, 09:10:48 pm I guess a custom css, if not an addon, could be made for those who wish to use FA instead?
Re: All icons to FA in 1.1 Reply #13 – August 20, 2016, 07:27:59 pm It should not be locked into using just Font Awesome though..IcoMoon for example, is rather nice and others will be useful as well. I agreed with ahrasis - a theme could easily use its own custom css for this. As long as most output from Sources/Controllers also has data without hardcoded icons, the theme should have no problem exchanging it into FA/IcoMoon/SVG etc. Other themes will just utilize the default output.I am actually quite impressed with the amount of enhancements and considerations that have been done within ElkArte. Kudos to the devs for that! Its a breath of fresh air coming from the old SMF 2.0.x and not looking particulary forward to whats coming/has come in SMF 2.1.
