This would be handy for some people.

ftp tag already exist, probably is disabled, have a look in Admin > Forum > Posts and Topics > Bulletin Board Code

Yeah, that was already enabled.

How about this, then: Automatically using the [ftp] tag if the visual post editor page's insert link button is fed an ftp:// link?
