Title: User name on top panel
Post by: meetdilip on February 26, 2014, 09:52:57 am
It would be nice to display user name on top panel. Would be kind to know which account we are using. It is a basic feature in my opinion.  :-[

It's an Option in the admin Panel:
Admin - Configuration - Layout
Display the member's name instead of "My Account" on the profile account button .

I've enabled it on this site ;)

Looks a bit jumbly at the moment, what with tiny blue thingy pointing down next to avatar next to name next to big white thingy pointing up. Is tiny blue thingy really needed?

@Antechinus the big white arrow is something I would love to remove.
I tried few alternatives

but none of them was really appealing.
I posted some idea here too:

Any suggestion is welcome! :D

Hmm. Dunno offhand. Mebbe shunt it off to the top right corner of the screen? Although I suppose that woould still have to come in on smaller screens (but might work well on desktop).

Or I suppose it could go in the account stuffz droppy, since people will probably set and forget it most of the time. :-\

Just removing the small blue thingy for the account droppy would clean up the overall look quite a bit.
