HTTPS

Hey,

it's 2016, "let's encrypt" is up and running. Why not use HTTPS by default? ;) ;) 8)

That's up to the server guys. :P (Provided that at least embedded images may have some issue with https, the usual one about http/htpps.)

From what I know, many friends running Let's Encrypt are using cron jobs to monthly check it's validity. I had seen some of them facing " SSL expired " issues once in a while using Let's Encrypt. As far as I know they need renewal once in 3 months.

Very good in fact. A lot of reputed names I know use it.

Sorry for trolling here ;)
I am using elkarte on my sharedhoster which luckily supports "let's encrypt" and did not see any problems so far (regarding encryption). I thought especially on this installation which can be seen as showcase it would be nice to see it.
