I always liked to send new registered users a message with links to announcements and other important topics and/or boards. Is there any chance to get this as a new function or at least an addon?

I'm also interested, on SMF I used a mod that after registration sends a PM to member. It was useful to give some basic indication to new members.

I can see that this is not a part of SMF or EA and only in one mod. My early view is that it is possible to create such pm using hook here in EA. May be, I create one addon for this.
