Mentions still appear for banned users

So yeah, there are a group of people who are inactive in the forum, but I do not wish to delete their accounts as they have posted before and their history is there. And they might come back one day..

But there are too many members. So when you mention someone for example, there are a lot of names appearing.

I've been trying to find where this cache of names are in, or where in Elkarte coding does it call the database from.. but can't find it..

Any ideas anyone? :(

I was sure I answered, but apparently yesterday night (technically this morning) I was more messed up than I thought. xD

Question: are the members really banned? Or just inactive and assigned to a group maybe?
The question is because I'm pretty sure (but I may be wrong) banned members (at least by member name, banning by IP is a different thing) are not included in the list.
So it sounds strange.

After that answer we can build something more.

Yup they were banned. But somehow their names appeared when you type @Bla bla name.

They don't appear in memberlist however...

Maybe it's the cache of names stored to show when mentioning?
