Title: Page load performace
Post by: emanuele on April 09, 2014, 06:36:42 pm
I'm pretty sure there is another topic, but I can't find it...

http://developers.google.com/speed/pagespeed/insights/?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.elkarte.net%2Fcommunity%2F&tab=desktop

Is there any reason why the minify was disabled here?
I seem to remember it was disabled at some point because of a bug?

Last bug I remember was the font css, but we fixed that some time ago.  I'll re-enable it and see if all heck breaks loose !!

ETA: done ... now fix what page speed is complaining about, :P

/me has a feeling Ema's been following a certain topic elsewhere... ;)

What bothers me via that pagespeed indexes vary from load to loaf because it takes server response times into account, and it's usually slower when no one has loaded a page in at least a minute. So basically you have to reload the test but... Page speed caches the server response results for a minute or so. Lots of fun...

If you're lazy you can use http://gtmetrix.com/ to get your page sent through google's and  yahoo's systems.  At least that's what it did a couple years ago when I was optimizing my site.
