Changing the default color sheme?

Elk != SMF, thus it might be better to change this blue/orange thingy to something else? ;D

Would be great to come up with our own color scheme.

I propose that we get a blind monkey and a colour picker, and use the first three colours said monkey picks. This will be the only way to avoid endless arguments over the precise shade of puce that should be utilised, and why lime green is an abomination blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah.....................

I've used this site to help me get palettes that I like and have colors that work together .... did a search on SMF for fun and there were a couple of DzinerStudio ones came up.  Nothing for Elkarte though :P

Interesting. Usually I avoid those sites and just wing it myself, but it may be a handy record of what is likely to have broad appeal.

Just looking over this page: http://www.colourlovers.com/palettes/most-loved/all-time/meta

Some of them are horrible IMO. However, something like this would be a good candidate for a default: http://www.colourlovers.com/palette/292482/Terra

It's not going to freak anyone out, and it's both stylish and has a bit of grunt to it.

Those all look good to me  :) I think they all had a warmer palette than the cool blue one we have now

I guess we (meaning Ant :D) would need to apply them to the css to see how they work .. you know which colors are used where and does that end up with a site thats easy on the eyes

Personally I'd love to see a forum go with a warm green colour scheme out of the box, but that's just me.

Interesting, I'm reminded of the old phrase 'blue and green should never been seen'. The green's not that far off what I'd like to see, but it does not go with the blue.

If you believe that phrase, don't ever look at scenes like this.
