Today, we are pleased to release ElkArte 1.0.9. This release fixes some bugs that were found since the release of 1.0.8. As this is a maintenance release, the majority of the updates are focused on bug fixes and increased stability. This is a recommended update for everyone running the 1.0.8 version.
This release follows our semantic version (MAJOR.MINOR.PATCH), meaning that third-point (x.x.X) releases should contain backwards-compatible bug fixes and enhancements, so for the most part you will not find new features in this release. Major new features will be reserved for second point versions (x.X.x).
Refer to the
release notes (http://www.elkarte.net/community/index.php?topic=3939.0) on the forum for a complete list of updates.
Patching procedure:
For any question you may have, feel free to ask on the support forum (http://www.ElkArte.net/community/index.php).
Of course you are encouraged to update to this release since it contains a lot of fixes and improvements, thank you for your continued support!
Other than numbering is this any different than 1.0.8.1? And your text says 1.0.8 fixes 1.0.8. Probably should be 1.0.9.
Yeah, I decided to pick the safer route and name it 1.0.9, I'm not sure how our js code copes with more than 3 indexes.
The only other fix I added is a sort of workaround for session handling in PHP 7:

In case it's not difficult to apply manually.
updated!
Dito!
Will my support board with 1.0.8.1 ready for the update 1.0.10? I can't install 1.0.9 because it says it is already installed (as 1.0.8.1).
Updated by overwriting 1.0.8 with 1.0.9. So far so good.
News fader still has 1.0.8 :)
ohh... darn! xD
/me needs an addon to deal with releases! xD
Don't know if an addon is the best choice, but I like the idea you mentioned in another post that the update should overwrite entire files, or better all files.
But news are not changed by files. ;)
I'm using CACHE_STALE (which is set in additional function in custom SSI.php) to display links to latest packages on my site :)
Here it could be used to insert version inside $txt and this $txt would be loaded in news feed - just thinking ::)
you're right :-X I understood something different, sorry :-[
