Title: Disabling drag and drop for menus?
Post by: Antechinus on June 02, 2016, 06:31:11 pm
Is there a setting for this somewhere?

Yes, I know it is supposed to be a feature. Would still like the ability to make things stay put, for various reasons.

NVM. They drag but don't drop. They bounce back to where they were. Must be a browser thing, and is annoying when trying to copy text from a button to explain things to other people. Will look into browser stuff.

What browser out of curiosity?

Ohhh I guess Chrome.
It's likely the fact that you D&D any kind of link in any browser. ;)
You should be able to highlight and copy the text by pointing at the tiny space between each of the menu entries, from there (the mouse pointer comes back to an arrow instead of pointer/hand) you can drag to highlight the text.

Pale Moon. And it didn't used to do it, then it started doing it, but since I only find it a PITA occasionally I just grumbled a bit and then forgot about it.

It was being a PITA again today, so more grumbling ensued. :D I'm going to have a look into config options and see if I can nobble it. From my perspective it's counterproductive behaviour.

For me it depends on what I want to do...
It was quite good Opera 12's (and before I guess) behaviour: click&drag (vertically) moves around the link, click+wait+drag select the text. But... it's long gone.
