Always showing " 1 " Mentions

It's been there since a couple of weeks. In the mention that I see  an alert 1. But when I click it, I see there are no new alerts. Please do check.

I lost track of that, I don't remember any more if it is a simple number or if it is counted "live"...

I think I found the bug and I uploaded the file here... hopefully it should work and fix the problem.
I also added a recount to the scheduled task, so that it should keep things in-synch.
