That's a long time for a board! Respect! You're very kind. I have to be honest though: I didn't start the oldest site. It was inherited around 2008. Advice on getting things rolling is welcome!Quote from: wintstar – September 22, 2015, 05:50:52 amWelcome to ElkArte Forum On another 13 years with ElkArteWe certainly hope so!Hope everyone has a wonderful day!
Re: Hello! Reply #91 – January 03, 2016, 04:50:14 am Good Morning,i found this nice piece of Software by Surprise. Most Sites talk about SMF but forget to mention this fork.I am impressed by the clean database Structure, the PHP OO Coding Style and the integration to use Sphinx as Search Engine.I running for a few years a Large Mybb 1.8 based Board which was previously running on VB ( before 4.x) and before that on WBB.Currently i am investigation if a move to Elkarte is possible and what needs to be done. Many thanks for this excellent work & have a nice and peaceful New Year.
Re: Hello! Reply #92 – January 03, 2016, 05:03:11 am Welcome around Nifty. At the moment an importer for MyBB 1.8 is (still) missing.I plan to work on one, but at the moment I can't give you any time frame.

Hey,thanks, i am currently working on one which is nearly complete. I have to many special requirements to use the OpenImporter. It will be a Java based command line Importer from Mybb 1.8 to Elkarte. I can Open Source it on GitHub If anybody is interested.
Re: Hello! Reply #94 – January 13, 2016, 02:46:58 pm Hi,I know Vekseid off another site and he pointed some people including myself in the direction of Elkarte (here and on Github). I created some themes for his site and a couple of other gaming sites/forums before that, and I'm an Oracle-certified MySQL developer. The short of it though is I haven't worked with MySQL in a while, and it's been my own projects I've worked on, in addition to what I've studied. I'm self-employed as a writer and artist right now, but creating themes in a hobby of mine.
Re: Hello! Reply #95 – January 13, 2016, 05:59:15 pm Welcome anankeblue! Nice presentation, if you spot anything odd in the queries feel free to point it out! And if you manage to create a theme it would be nice to see it!
Re: Hello! Reply #96 – January 13, 2016, 07:29:33 pm Thank you emanuele. I haven't had a look at much yet but I will (and I'll have a better idea about themes when I do). I haven't used Github or Elkarte before so there's a learning curve. I create/edit my themes on Notepad++ (and preview them either using the dashboard/admin console or Stylish add-on for Firefox) and most of my use of MySQL has been from the command line (and later PHPMyAdmin). Aside from some CMSes (PHP Fusion, CMS Made Simple, and Wordpress, as well as MyBB and YABB) and Dreamweaver (which I don't have anymore), I generally just use Notepad++. The themes I did for Veks were on a modified version of SMF, so I'm familiar with it. I don't have much familiarity with programs that are generally used for the creation process, though.
