The CAPTCHA image is no longer displayed

Hello!
The CAPTCHA image is no longer displayed. Not on the register form for new members and not in the ACP, where I can make the settings for it. There the example image disappeared.
What could have happened?

I see a "tab" at the beginning of the pages, most likely, an addon has a malformed file with a tab before the opening php tag (<?php ), this is likely the cause of both this and the problem with the quoting.

Try putting the attached file in the forum root directory, then you can either run it from the command line, of reach if from the browser.
It should list a set of files with potential problems (there may be false positives).
Check any of the files (if the number is reasonable) and see if at the beginning or at the end of theme there is a tab space.

I've tried to open the page with three different browsers, but I only get that error messages:
Error: Secure connection failed

Um, I don't know how to run it from the command line...

Can there be a problem with the SSL certificate / https, that there comes an error message?
I tried it with a https Website and there was the same problem. Than I tried it with a http Website and the check_php.php worked.

The message from Firefox:

Error: Secure connection failed
The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading.
- The website can not be displayed because the authenticity of the received data could not be verified.
- Please contact the owner of the website to inform him of this issue.

From Chrome:

This page does not work
forum.xxxx.de has not sent any data.
ERR_EMPTY_RESPONSE

From Internet Explorer:

The page can not be displayed.
• Make sure the web address https://forum.xxxx.de is correct.
• Search the page with your search engine.
• Refresh the page in a few minutes.

EDIT
With the https website it worked just now, but not with the forum.

It worked in my 1.1.3 too, but today I saw that the images suddenly disappeared. I don't know since when it is.

No way to run it from a command line? (SSH or something?)
So that we cut down any ssh or whatever issue.

No, unfortunately not. My account at my hoster doesn't include SSH access. :(

The captcha image is back! The error had happened because of the two folders which were gone, as I have described in another thread:

Quote from: Mrs. Chaos – In the directory "sources -> subs" the two folders "Errors" and "MentionType" had disappeared (for whatever reason). I've uploaded these new and now everything is oaky.
