This release follows our
semantic version (http://semver.org/) (MAJOR.MINOR.PATCH), meaning that third-point (x.x.X) releases should contain backwards-compatible bug fixes and enhancements, so for the most part you will not find new features in this release. Major new features will be reserved for second point versions (x.X.x).
Refer to the release notes (http://www.elkarte.net/community/index.php?topic=2311.0) on the forum for a complete list of updates.

Ouu, gratz! :p
Congrats on the new release, will be updating tonight.
Thank you! Great work of you all. :)
When patch 1.0.2 will be merged with 'master'? I'm asking, because translation is not updated yet
I knew there was something I missed!
Sent the PR:

let's wait few minutes to let travis complete the build. ;)
And of course thanks for noticing it!! :D
ETA: done!
The news fader still says "ElkArte 1.0.1 has been released!" ;)
Good point!
Now is a bit late, tomorrow... :-[
Should be updated now
Great!
I'm having an issue updating. When I submit the patch installation page, it hangs for about 5 minutes, then returns to the submission page again, no errors, no confirmation. What am I doing wrong?
Also, if using CloudFlare, it gives a 524 Timeout error. Is there a way to execute the update without using HTTP?
Updated without a problem thank you, sorry
@ant59 you had problems.
Try uploading the unzipped package.
Don't tell anyone, but I feared something like this may happen at some point, though I was hoping not at that level of patches... :-\
The problem is very likely a timeout due to the amount of work it takes to parse the modifications xml file.
I'm not sure unzipping is enough, but it may at least help out.
As time goes on, I hope that replacing entire files will be the normality and that should reduce the amount of resources required to do the update. For the next releases we just have to remember that micro releases have to be smaller... :(
Sorry for the troubles ant59.
Seems to have turned out to be an FTP problem. Does Elkarte handle SFTP? I chmod-ed the files to 777 and the patch installed practically instantly.

Glad it worked out for you.
Not at the moment.
I looked around a while ago for libraries tu support SFTP, but never managed to decide what to do...
YAY! :D (For the install, a bit less for having to go 777...)
Congrats Team ElkArte
I can't have fun with the page numbers blinking effect anymore since you updated here as well :'(
Jokes aside, congratz guys ;)
It seems like the announcement should have specifically called out that it hijacks and overwrites the avatar settings. I recall reading it here in other threads but had forgotten and didn't notice until I got PMs from forum members that things had changed. Seriously, if you're going to turn an option like gravatar back on in an update you really should make that completely explicit. A line saying simplified settings and permissions does not cover it.
Ouch, I'm sorry!
That's even why I wrote the notification box to warn admins there were changes... :(
If you installed the patch from the package manager of if you run the update.php in the patch, you should have seen a green box with a link to the admin > credits and support page, that explains it was not possible to properly migrate the avatar settings and to check the avatars page.
BTW, could you check if the text in the page is there? I wouldn't have messed up something... :-[
It should be the second block "Latest noteworthy updates".
The text is in the support and credits section, but I never thought to look there since the update passed it's checks using the package manager and said it installed ok. In the future can warnings like that go in the box announcing the new release please?
Yep, they will.
My fault as usual, it was supposed to show a box like the attached one, but because of a bug it didn't show... I'm really sorry for the trouble. I'll commit the fix immediately.
Cool. And no worries. Just passing on feedback for future releases.
