Hello,

In the cutom fields added to profile we can set these permissions:

• users can see this field: owner can edit it
• users can see this field; only admins can edit it
• users cannot see this field; owner and admin can edit it
• this field is only visible to admins

What do you think about adding a new permission like: "Guests cannot see this field (only registered users); owner and admins can edit it" ? I think it will be nice to have it for privacy reasons.

At some point I had the idea that have a group-based setting was the best option (i.e. allow to set visibility and editing permissions per-group), then I had the impression it was overkill.
Guests would indeed make sense.

Group based will need much work and probably is better as addon, only guests I think will be much easier to implement into core.. IMHO
