Title: iframe issue
Post by: Burke Knight on July 01, 2015, 10:42:43 am
Okay, on a site I'm doing now, I need a portal page, to have an iframe that includes a file in the root of the forum.
However, when I set it up, it shows, then vanishes.

That does not do me good, as the form only works, if that file is as is, and is included into the portal page.
If it vanishes, no one can use it, and what the site is for, it's very needed... LOL

I tried to change Frame Security Options, but it only has Allow Same Origin, Deny All Frames, and Disabled.
If try Disabled or Allow Same Origin, the form still vanishes.

Is it possible to have a link to a page where we can see the portal page with the frame failing?

http://avalon3.cc.nf/index.php?page=signup

Do note, it's not the actual home of the site, but a dev site, so form will not actually work to do a test signup.
And it is intermittent on vanishing.
If I edit the page, then hit preview or Edit Page, it will vanish, until re-edit and re-add the iframe code.

Sorry, but now I'm a bit lost.

At the moment I can see the frame just fine in both firefox and chrome.
From your description the problem seems random, is that right?
But from your last message I seem to understand the problem is when you edit it?

A step-by-step list to reproduce the issue would be the best solution. :D

It seems fixed now, so it could have been server issue.
But, when I was first making the page, I'd paste in the iframe, and would hit preview.
It would show. But if I hit preview again or edit, after adjusting something else, it vanished.

Isn't that a SimplePortal issue if ever?

Could be, but to be honest I never tried to embed an iframe in a block so...

Never mind, I stopped at the first line of the first message. xD

Well, anyway it looks like it worked after the first try.
