IIRC (but it's a while I don't touch that part of the admin interface and the admin group has some peculiarity) it should be possible to convert the admin group into an hidden one.
That would make it invisible to anyone except admins (or group managers I think).

You can already accomplish that by creating a usergroup with all privileges, which by name and appearances is nothing special.  Assign yourself to that group and done. 

Another dirty little trick is to have a different display name for the admin.  No one knows what credentials to use for a login attempt.  I use both strategies.
