I am assisting to convert a friend's 5,000 + posts MyBB forum to Elk. Kindly assist me with the same.

What is the procedure to do import ? Totally at bay about what goes where.

The shortest explanation is: download the package, extract it, upload everything and point your browser to the import.php file in the importer directory, follow the instructions and you are done. ;)

I don't think so, it should work with 1.6, but recently I had to reduce the activity on OI and I had to focus on improve code and fix issues (that are still there though...), so I didn't have time to write new converters.
