[ADDON] Social Links

This has been done for quite some time ( http://www.elkarte.net/community/index.php?topic=1441.0 ), I'm just closing the old thread and leaving the actual addon in the board.
Social Links

Introduction
This adds social the links for Facebook Like, Twitter Tweet, and Google +1 to the first post of each thread.

License
This modification is released under a MPL V1.1 license, a copy of it with its provisions is included with the package.

Features
  • Ability to select which links are shown in the post
  • Ability to turn off the addon

Installation
Simply install the package to install this addon.

Great. Actually what i was looking for. Was wondering if facebook share could be added to it.

Mighty fine mod, mighty fine.  Have there been API changes since it was written?  G+ link displays but not FB or twitter.  Thanks!

Looked over the latest dev guides and did not see anything major, and in fact when I installed the current mod on my local the buttons did show up.  Are you running an add blocker or something like that (both facebook and twitter use iframes to show the buttons).

In any case I did update the mod to use anything new that I saw (still uses iframes but we could do this another way if needed), and added Linked in to the available buttons.

i don't know we have this. :D

requesting whatsapp and telegram if possible.

can we disabled the share count? i just want dumb buttons so it will not query facebook/twitter?

and if this: http://sharingbuttons.io/ can be adapted to this plugin? just asking, i want to use it but don't know how to insert it manually to elkarte.

Here is a quick version to add whatsapp and telegram, as well as remove the counter.  Tweaked the layout just a bit to help align the default app buttons since they are all sized a bit differently.

Do note, I don' have accounts to any of these things, so I have no way to test them, I simply went by whatever docs each service provided (or did not in some cases).  So if it works, great, if not, you may be on your own  O:-)

Somewhat similar so could be adapted, its just replacing the html in this addon with the html they provide.

awesome @Spuds !

i tried it and it works.

if i may to made another request:
1. can you add facebook share?
2. positioning the social links under the menu for better access. the first post is pretty far if the member read more than page 1.
3. size settings? below I attach what i'm using on my forum (addthis). maybe because it's intended the links inserted after post so it's pretty small. what i want to do is to replace addthis completely.

That image is in the CSS file (as an SVG image), so as long as sociallinks.css is being loaded it should be visible.  If not what browser are you using?

That is odd ... its clearly loading the CSS.  I will see if I can reproduce the issue, but I don't have an authentic mac
