This sounds like manageable steps toward the kind of "new code base" for SMF that has been envisioned for a long time.As for "other priorities". That was a difficult series of decisions, wasn't it? A lot of the team wanted to limit the number of changes in order to make the newer version faster to produce. It sounds as though you are saying that tthe rest of the team JUST DIDN'T GET IT, in terms of what kinds of features do and do not contribute to a nice quick release.Sounds like, in addition to having fun, you are heading towards demonstrating your claims by just building it.
