Addons / Re: [ADDON] Font Awesome Icons in the Editor
Last post by Jorin -
Thanks, Spuds, I'll give it a try.

All is well, yes. Had some life changes the last months, some bad, some good, but overall I am very happy at the moment. I am officially divorced now, but have a wonderful new relationship growing, with kids (I love kids). I am still working in home office, it's save but a bit lonely. I was on holiday with her last week, which was a very good idea (and safe too, because we were still in Germany, no need for risky holidays in Greece or Spain). All is doing great. Thanks for asking, didn't know I was missed.  :D

I think you may be able to do that w/o the addon.

If you have Font Awesome enabled for your theme ( which means in your themes index.template.php file you have 'require_font-awesome' => true, in the template_init function )

Then you should be able to add in some HTML like
Code: [Select]
<i class="fa fa-folder"></i>
which will show the folder icon where you place that code.  Pick whatever icon that is available with FA.

PS Nice you see you, hope all is well ! :D

As for displayed name I never used that, I keep it disabled.
The default is that the display name is set to their userid ... which is not the ideal.  I could add the field to the form and auto fill it with the userid as well.  That way a user could change it if wanted.  Not sure.

I should have noted in the first post, all of that placeholder text that moves in / out of the text boxes is done only with CSS, not JS is used :D

The permission to use the PDF function is, critically, tied to the "send topics to friends".  Remove that permission and the PDF function should be disabled for those users.

I could easily add a feature to disable the images in the output, I'll see if I have time this weekend.  If you are in a rush you can edit the elk-pdf class and set the validImageTypes variable to an empty array.

I like it, simple and clean. Good choice to put a Register button on Login page.

As for displayed name I never used that, I keep it disabled.

Can you add the ability to disable images all together for PDF Print?
Can you add the ability to see and use this addon based on permissions?
Thank you!

Looking to improve some of our basic forms, notably login and registration and others where its userid password email input.

Our login form is not so bad, the field description is to the immediate right/left of the input box and the width is restricted so that description does not wander to far.

The registration form is much wider so the distance from description to the input box can be pretty far, which is not the best human factors / usability.

So I've tarted them up a tad, using various concepts from the web and some semi material design with how the placeholders act / position.  The Login form is more compact with a register button as well so you don't have to go hunting.  The forgot password is now located with the password field.

The Registration form follows the same guidelines, just trying to clean it up.  Also we currently have it optional to enter your display name during registration, I really see no need to make that an option, I think it should be required.  To often I see display names as the email address and other ways to "leak" info.  So I'm thinking to make it mandatory.

Thoughts and comments welcome.
